First of all I feel quite pleased with the dolls I own, and besides having ordered the last WClub Exclusive Dania Zarr (which shall arrive next spring), I'm not planning to add any more girls. I'm still undecided about new boys, now that I have "fine tuned" my hommes patterns I'm worried about IT new male body which was going to happen this year, and probably will be launched in 2015. I'll probably stick to older models.
Anyway, I still have the problem to find a companion for Cecilia, she's too choosy and to be honest none of the guys seem quite to like her: this is going to be one of next year's themes:
we've not been on speaking terms since she dressed all up and then found out she was not to be invited to new year's party |
So far this is what i've planned to work around:
Odette & Carlo are going to Oman and then Mexico:
sneak preview - Muscat in the background |
I'm going to work on (and then present you) some Hommes Fashions collection: Urban Safari, Tartan Craze, Classic, Total White and Urban Cowboy....we shall see what I will be able to accomplish!
Urban Safari - sneak preview |
Agata is going to get some new Chanel outfits and show you some more of Genoa
to be sewn.....soon |
Ofelia and Goffredo are going to have their own series, inspired by the Thin Man movies I think, with fashions from the 30's and Nasty the Dog
The Redhead Connection shall go to Venice
New chapters for the Norma Desmond's: we can't leave Tecla alone on her sofa without consequences, can we?
New dioramas: I'm planning a new "persian room" and I still have to show you the "Earth room" in its full glory!
New Girls outfits: Urban Safari, Total White, Tartan Craze and some great fashions from the 30's
Of course I'll do more photomontages to show the fashions! I'm planning to use Spain as a background!
I'd also like to make a sort of a monthly "cover", as if the blog was a magazine, but I'm not sure yet.
These were the ideas. My good intentions: to improve the quality of the pictures! I hope I won't be always in a hurry and to be able to make some better pictures: as far as framing, posing and lighting goes! I also just bought a wonderful new camera: Panasonic Lumix TZ60. I bought it for travelling purposes, but as my poor Canon P90 has got several problems (too much desert sand I think) I'm going to use the new one for some selected photosessions.
I'd love to read your comments and suggestions!!!
Hi Billa, it promises to be a fabulous blog year here! I love your ideas and can't wait to see the collections, the new dioramas and your photography. The cover idea is great too. I really look forward to your new posts! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Night Owl! concentrating on the content of the blog should help me to keep doll hoarding under control!
DeleteI will try hard to keep the schedule (considering my usual summer sewing sabbatical, but planning ahead the posts should be very helpful!)
Kisses Billa
I'm going to enjoy watching your progress. I like the cover idea.
ReplyDeleteHi Jaye, Thank you! I'll start working at the covers this w.e.!
DeleteKisses Billa
Awesome! I'm excited to see all you have to offer this year. I'm sure your fabulous fashions will continue to inspire me and hopefully that will translate to more sewing on my part. Love the new lady who's coming. She's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa, I was so happy that IT released her as the last WClub doll! she will come with some great accessories (check the serpent bag and shoes!). I have some fancy ideas for the fashions, and I'll do my best to deliver (that's the whole point in posting this, keeping "promises"...LOL)
DeleteA big Kiss!
Oh, this will be fun! Especially looking forward to seeing the Moroccan room, but it all sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHi Smaller Places, thanks a lot! I've already started to collect the pieces for the new room, I'm planning carefully as I want it to come out exactly as I'm envisioning it....
DeleteKisses Billa
oh wow this sounds like a great year! I love what you made for your boys! Do you sell your hommes fashions? That persian room sounds cool. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. How did you know I loved the Thin Man series??
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, Thank you! Another Thin Man fan, you make me so happy!!!! Now I really feel engaged with the Thin Man project!
DeleteI never thought about selling my fashions, they are hand-sewn so it takes me forever to sew one, but I shall think about it and you'll be the first one to know!
Today I'm going to look for a carpet for the room. I'm just making my first steps in the diorama world but I tend to be very demanding, it will take some time!

Billa, all of your ideas for this year sound superb, and I especially like your idea about the cover. Your men's fashions is also a great idea and I, for one, look forward to seeing your collections. I've always thought your photos were amazing, so if the new camera is going to make them better....all the better! And, it goes without saying, your dioramas are always well done. I enjoy "being at home" with your doll family. In theory, I have all the dolls I want too. But one never knows what will come out of the woodworks and beg for me to take them in! LOL!!! PS. Cecilia is so pretty, I'm sure there's an Homme in her future! Don't be too hard on Tecla. You know how the song goes....."Girls just want to be girls!"
ReplyDeleteHi April, thank you so much! The first cover is on its way! the Hommes collection is something I've been thinking about for a while, I'm working also on the better way to show them, I'll try some different things.
DeleteIt is very hard to restrain from buying, after I posted I think I've found the Homme I needed, but let's not give away too much! Now besides from the economics, I'm planning two huge travels this year) the main reason not to buy is space and neglected dolls who are craving for some love.
Don't worry for Tecla, she loves to play her Norma Desmond character, it gives her the chance to be with Enrico and to wear some fabolous outfits!

Hello Billa!
ReplyDeleteI am still impressed with your blog and your passion! ^.^
I've tried several times to join the followers of your blog, but something does not work, an error pops up :( Maybe another time it works, I will try.
Thank U for your visit and comment on my blog :D
Kisses.
Hi Anna! I'm happy you like it. Well, you see, I'm a passionate girl, ask Sasha....LOL
DeleteI know, the button isn't working. Or better still, it has a hiccup pattern. And it is very annoying. I opened a ticket with google some months ago but they haven't fixed it yet. You can try with the bloglovin button if you like.
Your blog is really lovely too!
Kisses Billa
Hi Billa, it's just a suggestion, but have you tried moving the followers widget to another place in the lay-out? My translator widget didn't use to work either, and when I moved it to the top of my widgets, it suddenly did its job. xx
DeleteI'll try it right now! thank you!
DeleteHi Anna, I moved the widget at the top but the blue button still doesn't work, but if you open the window with the orange button right next to it you the button in the window is working....hope it's clear.....
DeleteHello from Spain: I really like your plans for this New Year. Great photos. Your collection is awesome. Keep in touch...
ReplyDeleteThank you Marta! I'm a famous "planner", let's see if I'm as good at crafting!

Hi MC, Thank you! I think that I'll have a lot of fun (and troubles) finding the right guy for her....
DeleteYes, The Redheads are very lucky. I still have to choose the pictures and to decide even the fashions to sew for them, but they'll come along!
Kisses Billa
Wow, what a year you have planned! Congrats on the new camera - I look forward to seeing your photos AND your patterns for the Hommes, should you choose to share them online. Congrats on the doll coming - she is stunning.
ReplyDelete2015 Chez Billa is off to a great start!
Hi D7ana, thanks you!
DeleteI'm thrilled about the new camera, I tried it on a (rare) sunny day at the seaside and the pictures are stunning. I will try to post the patterns, I use to draw directly on the fabric, but I'm working on some tutorials to show how I proceed.
Kisses Billa
A very ambitious years you have planned and I look forward to all of it.
ReplyDeleteHi Muff, thank you! I like the challenge.....
DeleteI am looking forward to following your progress this year. You have a number of exciting projects underway. Cecilia sounds like my Chandra. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to pair her with a guy so many times.
ReplyDeleteHi Jewell, thank you! Yes, I believe Cecilia is somewhat like Chandra, she's quite self centered.....but her main problem is that she suffers from a superiority complex....LOL
