Bartolomeo: Mad About the boy 5

Taking pictures of the boys in hotel rooms was beginning  to bore me, so I decided to change the style of the introducing photosessions. Of course we will have the "sexy sampdorian" thing, as Sasha can't tolerate any new guy who isn't a true sampdorian to enter the house.

I bought Bernardo some time ago, I really like the Takeo sculpt, and was really intrigued by the Mission Moscow one, but in the end I settled for "In The Mix", as I really liked a lot his screening.

It took me a while to introduce you to him, as I wanted to know him a little better. When he arrived home he looked very sweet but I wasn't impressed by his personality.

He has been loafing around in his underwear and flip flops, until I found out he's an artist!

  1. Wow! I love Bernardo's new home!! What class! I, too, like the Takeo sculpt. He is, indeed a handsome guy. Hopefully down the road, I'll have one, too. While reading how you needed to "get to know him" I had to smile. You are so right about having to figure out who these dolls are, what they can or cannot wear and the "affinities" likely to form within their "community." This is one of the many things I love about this hobby! Great post!!! Big hugs. April

    1. Hi April, I agree with you, and we had a nice conversation with Shasha on her blog about this. It looks like this is a thing that we all have in common, at least amont the ones of us who write stories or sew dresses. I can't buy a doll if I don't feel anything about he/her, no matter how beautiful, and the new additions have to fit in the community, I'm adamant about this.
If you're after a Takeo sculpt I would suggest to try to get a Fast Track Victor James, at a decent price, he's the handsomest around and has great hair!

  2. One of the things I find most impressive about your photoshops is that you include the doll's shadow. It adds so much to the image.

    1. Hi Muff, Thank you! The shadows were the first thing I learned to add as they are the most important thing to obtain a realistic image. With PS it is not too difficult. But I think that many programmes allow you to add a shadow, you should check on your new phone!
I'm fastidious about sharp edges, lights and shadows in my photomontages....sometimes it takes me a lifetime to get what I want, but I like the challenge!

  3. I love your backgrounds and the shadows add the realism!Great photography!
I agree on your addage on buying a doll. If you don't bond well, usually I find that the doll will eventually have to go. That happened with one of the Poppys - I think it was the Girl from Integrity. I just wasn't feeling it from her. All of the dolls have to click and have to have their own personality in some way.

    1. Thank you Lisa! I don't have the space for permanent dioramas. For these photos I usually use stock images. I use my own or Sasha's photos when I do the travelling settings.
So far I never had to part with any of the dolls, I'm very careful, and usually spend more on the secondary market because I have to wait to see the actual pictures (I don't connect well with promo pictures), even if sometimes it was love at first sight (it happened with London Mist Imogen, and Style Strategy Lukas for instance).
I had some problems with a couple of the guys, but with some hair styling and a little repaint I love all of them!
