A new soul.....Giorgia and a turning point

Since the Gloss Convention I've been resisting buiyng Adorned Vanessa, Grandiose Natalia and Noctunral Glow Veronique.
As I already ordered Rare Appearance Dania, that sooner or later shall be released by IT, I decided to stick to the girls I already had.
But I have to tell you: I don't like FR Tall Body. I thought so the first time I saw one "in person" and unfortunately it didn't grow on me. Quite the contrary.
While Nu-Face and FR2 can easily swap clothes (with the exception of trousers) the "tall body" girls can not.   I don't really like to have to sew multiple versions of a same dress and  I find the Tall Body proportions difficult to handle. Just a matter of personal taste and sewing skills.
I can understand that people with huge collections of earlier original FR clothes and accessories (in the older days  IT pulled off many outstanding outfis) are upset by the body change, but as I only started collecting FR a couples of years ago, I don't have this kind of problem. But the main thing is: I can only have dolls that I absolutely and throughly love!

I only have  Dania (red headed Margherita), Natalia (Hot Property - Edda)  and Veronique (Costanza) on a tall body, so I've been thinking (for a while now) if it was the case to buy the girls in their FR2 versions and substitute these dolls.
In fact last year it looked like at  IT's they were doing everything they could to help me: delivering dolls with the updated facesculpts (which I like a lot) on the new enhanched FR2 body, feathuring  the all time favourite faceups and hairdos.
This was the case with Grandiose Natalia for istance, who really reminds me of Hot Property (besides the grey eyes).
Ok, why I'm telling you all this? Because I actually ordered the three of them and today Natalia arrived!
So my decision is final: Margherita and Edda shall go to Carlotta's (with some dresses) and I'll only keep Costanza. Her Classic Hollywood features are too dear to me and, for the time being at least, I'm not ready to part with her!

I also decided not only to substitute Natalia, but  also to give her a new name. As she arrived at home I knew she was going to be called Giorgia!

So let's go ahead with the deboxing ritual!

I can't stop taking pictures of her!

I really like the outfit, I think I shall use this dress as a template for better homemade evening dresses to come.

Burgundy sandals .... OMG I didn't notice that!!!

I think she looks a lot like Raquel Welch, I absolutely love everything about her!

Well these outfits are so wonderfully 70's that I'm leaving you on the notes of this hit from 1974, it's from the soundtrack from the worst movie with  a stellar cast ever made: The Towering Infermo

"we may never love like this again"

  1. Wow, what a sassy, sultry lady! I love her dress. Congrats on your new doll! I still haven't really figured out this IT doll thing, but I think the dolls are beautiful. I would love to get a Poppy Parker someday. :)

    1. Hi Farrah, I think that a Poppy would be a great idea, she'g got the same measurements as Barbie and you can find the style you like better. They are a bit expensive on the secondary market thoug.
I've been in love with IT girls for a while now, I like the poseability of the bodies and the fact they have nice and realistic features. I think they are a good compromise, as I love all the "superdolls" but they are far too expensive for my taste!

  2. She's a beauty. Love her outfit. Why would you need to sew the same dress in multiple sizes? Why wouldn't you just create a fabulous wardrobe for the FR tall ladies? Remine me again, who is Carlotta?

    1. I Vanessa, I like to try the new dresses on several dolls, even though I don't photograph them all, so I really like the idea of having only one size.
In fact I'm going to keep one of the tall ladies (Costanza - Sweet Smell of Success Veronique) and she's going to get a whole 30's and 40's wardrobe. She's the resident Classic Hollywood diva!
Carlotta is my niece (my sister's daughter) I started this whole thing of sewing doll dresses because of her! LOL

  3. Congratulations on your new gorgeous doll. I like the contrast of the burgundy sandals with the red dress, too. She will be fun to sew for ;-)

    1. I believe so D7ana, I'm really impressed by her outfit, and she has very nice accessories too. I like the fact that I "knew who she was" the very moment I deboxed her

  4. Giorgia is breath taking! Can't wait to see more of her. I do tend to agree with Vanessa. I don't understand why you'd have to make three of everything. Here I have Barbies with 2 different body types and I have FR dolls with three!!! I have slopers for each body type and who I make what for is determined by who I think will show off the style. The big busted dolls are the hardest to sew for. Their proportions with the tiny waist and hips are difficult, so I usually reserve ball gowns for them. I likes suits for the Barbie Basics, younger trendier clothes for the SIS Barbies, etc. etc. But if you still choose to give the others to Costanza...lucky, lucky, LUCKY her!!!!!

    1. Well April, I have to keep my collection at bait, and one way is to limit myself to a few body tipes.
Two of the tall ladies went to Carlotta, and one is going to stay. The big busted lady is perfect for late 30's, 40's and 50's fashions, and you know, at times I love to go vintage, so she's going to gain from that.
Besides, it is possible that I'm going to add some new bodies, as I really like "Long Tall Woman" Kesenia (and she's on a Victoire Roux kind of body) and I still have to lay my hands on a Erin (this means I should be adding also the new NuFace), but the real problem is, I didn't warm up to those two girls I gave Carlotta (my niece) instead she loved them so much (of course they went to Carlotta's with a complete wardobe LOL)
So, we shall see what we shall see. Now a hoard of gorgeous new ladies and a boy are coming home and I'm so thrilled!

    2. Billa, I now understand your dilemma. I just bought a Color Infusion doll (Zara Wade). As usual I selected her because of her pretty face. As usual, the description lacks actual dimensions. When she arrived, I was stunned by how tall she was and how big her feet are. Her body is slim enough to fit into existing clothes, but I'll have to figure something out for shoes until I buy a pair that will fit. She is a bit out of scale from all the others. So I now understand why you want to limit the sizes. I'll keep her because she is pretty. Perhaps just for eveningwear.

    3. Hi April,in the end I decided to keep Margherita (red headed Dania Zarr) because she looks like a perfect match for the Bruce Willis head. Tris is the whole problem with IT dolls, they all have diffrent geiger, size and feet, the only one who more or less shares modelmuse measurements is Poppy Parker! Colour infusion is not even in 1/6 scale ImHO bue they have lovely and realistic facesculpts and I look forward for her evening gowns
About footwear ebay seller paulzangby has some nice and affordable shoes in color infusion size, he's usually reliable on sizes.
Actually i think I have a couple of pairs I bought by mistake. I could senso they to you! If you wish send me a mail at thinwoman34@gmail.com ad a gift of course!
Texting while on the bus on my way to work hope this makes sense!

  5. Giorgia is stunning out of her box. I love her gown- quite the show stopper. Congrats on the newbies on the way and deciding to part with the dolls you didn't love. I'm the same way in that I can't stand to hang on to dolls I don't love- better to send them off to make someone else happy. Carlotta has the best aunt ever.

    1. Hi Jewell, I'm really happy with Giorgia, she's still in her original outfit, I love how she displays in it, this gives me time to think about some new fashions for her.
I'm really happy with my decision about the dolls who went to Carlotta, she will play with them and make them "live". And I'm sure she will enjoy them a lot!
Taking this decision taught me that I'm not quite a hoarder, in fact I've become more and more selective about dolls.
Now I'm looking forward for "rare appearance Dania Zarr" who's on her way from IT!
      Kisses Billa
