Express post: my first (and only) American Doll mini!

Today at the beach some kids were holding a yard sale, a good way for parents to get rid of tons of old toys during the summer season, and look what I found for 50 cents?

She's going to be called Adelaide

I've been thinking for a while about adding a kid to the crew, for diorama purposes, and there she was, waiting for me. She was all alone in the middle of monsters and mini cars.

The thing that impressed me most, is that I've been reading Farrah and Barb posts about American Dolls and I never saw any of them in shops here in Italy, so I had to double check to be sure.

I can understand people talking about "rescuing unloved dolls". In fact she's in perfect order, her hair are a bit bushy but I believe she can be easily fixed with a gentle brushing.

Now she needs a good washing, some love and new clothes and shoes....she's goint to fit perfectly as the younger daugher of Luchino and Costanza
And she's going to be as spoiled as her big brothers!

Honey, I promise you, next time you're going to make a new movie!
A kid upstairs?!?!?!? Are you JOKING?!?!??!!

    1. Hi Barb, any ideas about which character she is?

    2. With the ash blond hair and bangs, I'd definitely say she is Kirsten Larson. Kirsten's character was one of the original three 18" dolls produced by Pleasant Company. Kirsten and her family are recent immigrants from Sweden, who settle in Minnesota. Her stories take place from 1854-1856. I will throw a couple of pictures of my mini Kirsten up on my blog.

    1. You see Jaye, when I started collecting the rules were: no Kids, this is going to be a fashionista collection, but when you get started with dioramas you have to add characthers to populate them....I think
More drama is going to set in in the house!

    1. She reminds me of those brat child of the movies of the 30's and with those do-nothing brothers of her, I think I will find some nice storilines. I also have to sew her a doll.....a kid must have at least one toy!

  8. Oh yes, I can imagine not being happy over the pitter patter of little feet running here and there above their heads!!! LOL!!! (Had this problem once--drove me c-r-a-z-y!!!!) You are a TRUE doll person, Billa. Your new dolly is adorable and I know about not being able to pass up a bargain. It's funny how when we start out with this hobby with a single idea, only to find ourselves in a brand new place later on. It will be fun to see how you work this new member of your doll family in!

    1. Hi April, you know I like to play little tricks on my dolls.....they are so upper crust super fashionable, and I love to throw in some craziness from time to time....
You're so right, you can never tell where this hobby is going to lead you, guess it's what it makes it so interesting, you can never get bored!
I'm working on new posts for the next months and I'm trying to finish at least the action figures outfits, I have so many things going on, I have to keep my nerve and go ahead one step at a time!

  9. Wow, so lucky to find one in great shape! They don't even make Kirsten mini dolls anymore so this is extra special. :)
The neighbors are probably made because they know they will be asked to babysit, lol.

    1. Hi Farrah, I'm so happy we have adopted her! I odered some baby jane's and soon I'll get started on her wardrobe.
Well Luchino and Costanza have a plethora of servants, so Adelaide will have her nanny. But she's super spoiled!!! I also have to find a way to sew her a doll!
