Goffredo: With a little help from my friends [edited]

This is not the planned weekly post, I'll post it later don't worry!
But I just received Declan Wake from the Gloss Convention (still waiting for Sebastiano - Callum to ship) and I really need some learned advice from you fellow bloggers

So this is more an general SOS post.....and the problem is

HOW CAN I FIX HIS HAIR?!?!?!?

it was a rough trip from Florida.....

LOL this is a great challenge, I want him to look as IT fixed him at the convention:

His hair are greasy, so perhaps I should be able to mold them with some hair clips and a bit of patience, but I will HUGELY appreciate any words of wisdom from you!

With a little help from my friends

Update

first, the thin man had only mustaches, so I used no-acetone nail solvent, washed the face with water and baking soda and finally washed his face with soap:

These are not exactly the "thin man" kind of moustaches but they look good enough (I don't have any clues with repainting, nor the necessary skills)

Let's see if hair clips and his "natural grease" work the magic!

Stay tuned!

After a "violent" hair spray session

  1. Hi Billa! He had a "just got out of bed look", kind of cute, but not what you want of course :-). I hope the hair clips work.
What I used to do with my Kitty Collier dolls - who have very reluctant hair sometimes - was use some hair spray to keep the hair in place (I used my fingers to model it quickly before the hair got too sticky, and let the hair spray dry), but I don't know what effect that has on long term, because I don't have them anymore. Or hair wax could help too I think.
The moustache looks good! The face is great like this!
Have a great weekend, and I hope your new handsome guy's hair will get tamed! Hugs xx

    1. Thank you Night Owl! Unfortunately among my furniture I don't have a bed, otherwise I should have had a use for this hairdo! LOL
But as I had in mind to transform the guy into a dapper early 30's character I'll have to work hard (I already was working on his wardrobe)
The hair spray may be an excellent idea, I will not try wax as his hair are already very greasy and the wax would be too much, he's not very happy with the clips but maybe clips + hair spray will do the job. Thanks again!

  2. Did you try a boil perm? If you do, be careful about getting the flocked part in the boiling water as it might com off. I would dip it in the boiled water first, then style it and let it dry. Use hairspray after it is dried. Good luck! He already looks better even with the clips in his hair!

    1. I never tried a boil perm, if air clips and hairspray won't work I will check the net for some good tutorial. And I shall be very careful with the flocked part!!!! You see, it already took me a lot of guts to decide myself to take off the beard with the nail solvent....he's going to keep the clips for at least 24 hours, then will shall see! thanks a lot for the advice Phyllis!

  3. I have no useful wisdom, but he already looks better in hair clips... from greasy emo type in a classic-rock covers band to Pierce Brosnan in his heyday...

  4. Wow, Billa...you did a great job of restoring him. I'm happy you figured it out because I had no advice either. He looked as if he got lost in some college kids' "Spring Break." Personally, I would have panicked. Hugs.

    1. well, to be true I did panick! Night Owl gave me a great idea with hair spray, I didn't know if it worked for doll's hair, luckily enough I like to do my hairs in 30's fashions (sometimes) and it worked! Now he's drying and seems all right....

    1. Hi Troy, he was quite a challenge, mind that they all come straight from IT with messy hair! He didn't come exactly cheap (200USD) but it was the best price (and the maximum I was willing to pay) I could find! Hope you'll be able to do better!
